Hello, my name is Mr. Math and of course I love math, and more importantly hands-on learning!
STARBASE has changed my view of education. Aside from Math, Technology is another passion of mine. I enjoy video games, flying drones, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing. I wish I was given the opportunity to attend a program like this when I was in the 5th grade!
Outside of teaching, I spend most of my time with my wife, two daughters and two pugs. Born and raised in Oregon, I have had the pleasure and opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Northwest and
activities like snowboarding, camping, hiking, rock crawling, off-roading, riding quads, and basketball.
When I am not hanging with my family and spending time enjoying hobbies, my wife and I own a bakery that has been operating for over 10 years and is a big passion of ours! We hope to pass it down to our kids one day!
Well, that’s a little about me. I can't wait to meet you and introduce you to STEM lessons that have sparked my excitement about hands-on learning all over again!

Mrs. Atoms has been teaching at STARBASE since 2013. Mrs. Atoms has had a lot of different jobs, including scooping ice cream, taking family photos, making coffee, and working at a bank. However, teaching kids STEM at STARBASE is by far her favorite one! Besides teaching, Mrs. Atoms loves playing outside with her three kids, especially if water is involved. Mrs. Atoms especially enjoys running, swimming, and paddle boarding. Mrs. Atoms also loves music and plays guitar. In fact, if you give Mrs. Atoms any random topic, she can almost instantly make up a silly song about it. Besides teaching at STARBASE, Mrs. Atoms’ dream job would be recording audio books. Mrs. Atoms loves reading aloud dramatically and she can do many different voices and accents. If you are wondering what Mrs. Atoms’ real name is, here’s a clue: It’s a homophone of her STARBASE name.

Hi, my name is Mrs. Kinetic! I started teaching at STARBASE in 2015, and it’s been the most fun I’ve ever had. I love science because of all the exploring and learning I get to do! I especially love the messy experiments!
I enjoy teaching engineering, because I get to see everyone’s imagination run wild. We can design anything we want and make it do really cool things!
I have family in Washington and Idaho, but I’ve lived in Oregon my whole life. I have 3 sisters, and 3 brothers, who are all younger than me! It was a crazy full house, I even had to share a room!
I now own a home with my husband, full of plants, and one very large dog. My dog has a lot of kinetic energy, so she keeps me busy when I come home from STARBASE.
